Very much woven for personal use, this truly authentic old Beni Ouarain carpet has all the hallmarks of a beautiful original tribal piece: thick Berber knots, the dark cream (not ivory) colour of natural untreated wool of ages past, a meandering grid of lozenges in ash hued wool and a carefully hand plaited fringe. The dense pile is thick and heavy. Dating from the 1960s, or thereabouts, it is in vintage condition, there is a small area of soft visible marking on one side and two areas of visible marking on the back
