A beautiful old and minimal genuine Beni Ourain carpet with a soft blanket-like feel. It is of the type of rug we rarely find these days. It is all-natural undyed, beautiful pure hand spun wool, in light, warm cream hues. Time has polished the wool and the carpet has an elegant organic spirit. The carpet possesses a weaving touch not seen in later pieces – four horizontal lines where knotted pile has been swapped for a few rows of flatweave. This technique made it easier to fold the rug in the day when it was used as seating.
