A unique antique Aït Bou Ichaouen carpet from the east of Morocco, with a wonderfully characterful pattern and a very special colour palette. The carefully constructed checkerboard composition moves from softer, lighter hues (light green, lavender, primrose) to richer, richer colors (dark maroon, charcoal). There are five areas of visible artisan repair, as found, which do not detract from the overall condition. This rare and original rug is woven in all pure, fine wool
