A striking circa 1990's vintage handwoven red Zaiane rug. Its lovely, deep colour story and gentle pliant feel, as well as its very slightly irregular shape, indicate that is was created for domestic use rather than mass-produced for the tourist trade. The deep pure red of the body of the rug is complemented with touches of black, sage green, and deep pink in the borders. There are some subtle repairs to the fringe at one end.
