From the middle Atlas mountains, this fine and ordered vintage handwoven carpet also reflects the weaving traditions of the Immezour region to the west of Marmoucha. Woven in all pure wool, the palette includes dark blood red, hints of deep amber, charcoal, and beautiful navy blue - the latter an unusual addition for Moroccan tribal rugs and a testament to this piece’s authenticity. The pile has been trimmed to a neat low height and the composition is complex and skillfully thought out, featuring a fine grid filled with curving Berber symbols.
