A beautiful and textural old rug with a soft wool pile woven on a cotton and textile base, with some of that base containing Lurex. Glittering silver threads gleam through in the pattern, and through areas of wear. The light gentle hues move from faded red in one small area to soft sun-touched magenta. An irregular network of Berber lozenges fills most of the rug. Most likely woven in the 1960s, the pure wool pile is now low with wear in places and this pliant Berber sleeping rug has an aged patina
