An authentic old and personal rug from the central Middle Atlas mountains. Around this region, the Zaiane Berber tribes (a confederation that consists of a dozen or more groups) wove distinctive thick-knotted pile carpets that were created to be warm and cosy. This carpet is dominated by the use of bold and deep blood-red wool with the design created in orange, black, and cream. As was traditional in these tribal weavings some of the pile has been trimmed to show the design, and some left long. Woven in 100% pure wool there is some restoration at each end
