A glorious vintage carpet with beautiful quality soft silky wool and a thick lush pile. The meandering lozenge network is loose and fluid with added interest at one end with the addition of small motifs. The careful detail with which the rug was woven shows itself again in the fine borders along each side. The wool is a warm dark creamy hue with distinct variations in tone and shade. In good vintage condition, there are two visible restorations and nibbling in the flat weave at one end and some discrete marks on the back, along with other subtle signs of its past life
