This gorgeous old and rare kilim, woven in fine pure hand-spun wool, dates from around the 1950s and originates from the Ourika Valley which is in the eastern edges of the High Atlas mountains. Using wonderfully subtle tints, including natural beige, faded tangerine, dark brown, soft aubergine and faded mauve, it features the finest and most skillful weaving and combines flat weave with a few bands of low knotted pile.
