This glorious vintage carpet, dating from about the 1960s, has all the distinct originality of a genuinely old Berber carpet. The texture is soft, loose, and blanket-like - glossy almost. This is a fine sleeping rug, and the palette is warm and bold - warm and deep red, mingled with tangerine, charcoal, and deep dove gray. The motifs are complex and finely executed, mixing strong diamond symbols with chains of square-shaped motifs, all laid out in an organic asymmetrical design contained within a beautiful border. The hand-spun pure sheeps wool pile is low, and the base has a little cotton mixed in. The carpet is beautifully irregular in shape and has some restorations along the edges
