A genuine vintage Azilal rug with a seemingly abstract composition featuring a central vertical chain of lozenges bordered by classic Berber ‘zig zag’ symbols. Created in warm cream wool on a fine cotton base, some fluorescent cotton pile adds boldness and character to the rug. In nice condition, there are 3-4 visible henna marks (each about the size of a hand) and areas of colour run around the motifs.
