A soft and silky, and fabulously artistic, Azilal rug featuring two of the most renowned Beber symbols: the checkerboard and the lozenge. The checkerboard pattern is one of the most ancient Berber symbols and has been seen in old cave carvings and the lozenge motif has also been used in Berber rugs for as far back as tribal weaving has existed. Woven in soft wool and a base of recycled cotton and textiles, this old rug is in lovely vintage condition with pile wear some small restorations in the flatweave band at one end
