This thick and heavy vintage carpet is overflowing with Berber symbols and motifs and is awash with strong colour, with coral dominating. The dense and complex design has some echos of urban Moroccan or even Persian rugs, yet is nevertheless rooted in Berber tradition. The knotted pile is mixed fibres, making it a strong and sturdy rug, while the cotton and wool base gives a softness to the piece. It is in good condition, with some sun fading on the face and a little touch of colour run into the white design and some gentle marking on the reverse
