A rare, soft, and pliant vintage carpet that was used as a sleeping mat in a Berber home: its flexible and loose weave would have made it easy to pack up and move around. Woven in pure hand-spun wool, the ‘abrashed’ sun-faded deep red is a bold blood red, and the darker wool is a deep charcoal. A complex lattice grid of lozenges fills the carpet, many containing additional intriguing Berber symbols and motifs. A few areas of low pile and some gentle colour transfer in places
