This gorgeous rare vintage carpet is woven in bold red hues, with a meandering grid of soft rounded lozenges filling the field. Within that, randomly placed green and sand-coloured motifs embed themselves within the lozenges. Woven on a cotton base, this is a rich and dramatic carpet that is charmingly irregular in shape. The pile is medium length and lies flat, and the carpet is finished at both ends with fine flat-weave bands. There is visible mending along both the selvedges and gentle pile wear
