This authentic vintage rural rug demonstrates the skilled craft of Berber weaving, being full of symbols and in which the weaver has artfully woven a storyline of motifs. While some of the design is formal, the weaver has given way to more organic and fluid symbols throughout one-third of the piece. While we can’t fully understand the narrative behind this unusual composition, it speaks to a lively and creative hand at the loom. Woven in 100% pure wool, the knotted pile is in good condition with some gentle wear and some neat restoration on the edges
