This is a gorgeous old sun-faded and pliant rug from the Azilal region, and it is thicker than most old rugs from that area. The weaver has integrated beautiful brightly-hued dyed wool and cotton - pink, yellow, sage green - alongside the all-natural background colours. The fine, aged patina adds to its striking tribal composition. Woven in pure wool on a cotton base, it is in good vintage condition. It is worth noting that the background colour is a little ‘pinker’ than perhaps it appears here
