A surprisingly minimal and densely textural vintage Zaiane carpet (from tribes mostly know for their complex decorative rugs) woven in thick dense 100% pure wool on a fine cotton base. The saturated field is enlivened by the addition of some sparsely spread out lozenge-based motifs woven in cotton. The size and very heavy weight of this large hefty rug indicates that, unusually, it may have been created by a male master weaver
