This old, long and covetable rug is a magnificent example of weaving from the area along the Atlantic coast of Morocco. Created in pure wool, the design is beautifully typical of the best rugs of that region, with a lovely and personal asymmetry to the composition (each motif appears to be very individual) yet the whole adds up to a balanced geometric piece. The deep and soft field tends to be a soft warm magenta-red, contrasting with the clear tangerines, sage greens, and purples of the design. In lovely vintage condition, there are 4-5 small marks in the rug - where the colours have bleached out slightly. Overall, this blends into the gorgeous vintage character of this original old tribal rug
